My name is Gemma. I am haunted by what I cannot have, and while I make every effort not to let this define who I am, this has become a space where I explore some of that longing. I am, after all, an aesthete.

I adore gothic and shiny things, and I covet beauty in its frighteningly many forms: classical, glamourous and erotic.

Whoops - I found this in my drafts, dating back a number of months (to the 4th of September, 2013). I apologise for this disruption in the space/time continuum…
There’s a chance I might love AlterRed. ;)
I’ve been pretty mad about their music since first seeing Mikey, Vix and company support The Crüxshadows at the O2 Academy in Islington, in 2012. Dollstown was a recent release then, and I spent months absorbed in their catchy tunes, absorbing lyrics and divine, doll-themed aesthetic before The Time it Takes to Smile arrived to finish off the trilogy.
Since then I’ve ended up getting to know the members of the band It was my real privilege to take part in the band’s inaugural Electro Creep Show, at Electrowerkz in Islington on the 3rd of September. That’s where I got the mask - I wore one in my role as a doll!
